Valves shall be placed throughout the distribution system so that <br /> each portion may be isolated with the least interruption of service. <br /> Generally, place valves at each roadway intersection or intersection <br /> of water mains. <br /> 7. Minimum depth of cover over 6" - 10" watermains shall be 8 feet, <br /> 7 1/2' over 12" and larger. <br /> 8. Minimum size of house service is 1 inch. <br /> 9. The design shall be in accordance with the Minnesota Department of <br /> Environmental Health, the Ten State Standards, and the Standard <br /> Plates. <br /> Storm Sewer Design Standards <br /> 1. Design frequency storm of 5 years for residential. <br /> 2. Design frequency storm of 10 years for commercial and industrial. <br /> 3 . Minimum storm sewer design velocity of 3 feet per second. <br /> 4. Minimum storm sewer pipe size of 12 inches. <br /> 5. Minimum culvert size 18 inches. <br /> 6. Aprons and trash guards for all roadway culverts and all storm sewer <br /> outlets and inlets. <br /> 7. Design frequency of 100 years for all detention basins. <br /> 8. Normal water level 4' below adjacent basement floor elevations. <br /> 9. Design flood level 2' below adjacent basement floor elevations. <br /> 10. Minimum detention basin free board of 1 foot. <br /> 11. Emergency overflow swale at least 1' below building openings. <br /> 12. Maximum basin side slope of 5:1. <br /> 13 . Normal water level shall not encroach on minimum lot area or size. <br /> 14. Design flood level shall not encroach more than 10' on minimum lot <br /> dimensions. <br /> 15. Minimum detention basin depth (desirable) of 4 feet. <br /> 16. Maximum rear or side yard swale length of 3601 . <br /> 17. Minimum swale grade of 0.5% in sandy areas, 1% all other areas. <br />
