Council Member Reinert introduced the following ordinance <br />and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 01 - 90 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2 AND THE ZONING MAP OF <br />THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA BY CREATING THE RURAL <br />BUSINESS RESERVE (R -BR) DISTRICT <br />I. <br />The City Council of the city of Lino lakes, Anoka County, <br />Minnesota does ordain: <br />Ordinance No. 2 of the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, <br />Minnesota passed by the City Council on May 24, 1983 is <br />hereby amended by adding Section 6, Subd. 20: (R -BR) Rural - <br />Business Reserve District. <br />(1) Purpose. This district is intended to preserve a rural, <br />very low-density environment until such time as the land <br />is needed for commercial and industrial uses. Residents <br />of this district can expect to fully use the land for <br />farming, grazing, animal husbandry, propagation of <br />nursery stock, gardening, and other traditional rural <br />uses. In addition, the district is meant to prevent <br />incursion of those land uses that would adversely affect <br />or diminish the rural character of the land. In <br />particular subdivision of land for residential purposes <br />as well as commercial and industrial uses without access <br />to suitable infrastructure is not to be permitted. <br />This district is also meant to serve the following <br />functions: <br />(A) To control and limit urban sprawl. <br />(B) To conserve land in a viable economic status <br />until such time as the need is present for <br />rezoning to a business use district. <br />(C) To reduce the possibility of rural -urban <br />conflict in both the use of land and in the <br />extension of utilities and other <br />infrastructure items. <br />Page 1 <br />
