Memorandum
To Honorable Mayor and City Council
From: Randy Schumacher, City Administrator
Date: September 3, 1986
Re: Building Standards per joint meeting of the Planning and
Zoning Task Force, and City Council
On August 27, 1986 a joint meeting was held to discuss the amended
design, and building standards for construction in commercial
and industrial zones.
It was the concensus.of the Planning and Zoning Board to
eliminate all wrinkle tin exterior siding for commercial or
industrial buildings. The Planning and Zoning Board also
supported a second issue which would eliminate buildings
constructed with a wood frame (stick built).
A number of developers in attendance voiced their concerns over
the restrictiveness of these proposed amendments.
This issue was placed on the agenda so the Council could give
direction to the Planning and Zoning Board in modifying their
building standards amendments, ie. additional landscaping
requirements, architectural screening boards etc....
