SECTION III. DISTRICT REGULATIONS <br />• A. "R" Rural District: <br />Purpose. This district is designed and intended to aid in guiding <br />development toward fulfillment of the Comprehensive Plan and to serve <br />the following functions. <br />• <br />• <br />1. To preserve productive land for agricultural use. <br />2. To maintain "open space" within and near to urban areas. <br />3. To help guide development of urban and rural areas along <br />an orderly design to preserve continuity and efficiency of <br />service. <br />4, To provide a method by which the urban farm can be guided so <br />as to control urban sprawl and still conserve land in an <br />economic status until such time as the need is present for <br />an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. <br />5. To reduce the possibilities of rural -urban conflicts in <br />establishing types and levels of service, methods of <br />financing the services and needs. To maintain an accept- <br />able per capita cost for such services as sanitary sewer, <br />water, police, fire, road maintenance, school transporta- <br />tion, and others is necessity. <br />Rural Districts: In the Rural District all signs must comply <br />with the following: <br />1. Residential Identifications: Not more than two (2) square <br />feet of nameplate. <br />2. Institutional Identifications: Churches, schools, parks, <br />etc. allowed up to twenty-four (24) square feet; not higher <br />than eight (8) feet. <br />3. Advertising Signs: Allowed by Conditional Use Permit; forty <br />(40) feel- maximum height above grade; must comply with General <br />Regulations. Section IV. <br />a. Must not be within seven hundred fifty (750) radius <br />feet of an existing residential structure or other <br />advertising structure in a non -freeway area. <br />b. Must not be closer than seven hundred fifty (750) <br />radius feet of another advertising structure. Shall <br />not be closer than twelve hundred (1200) feet to <br />another such advertising structure on the same side <br />of an interstate freeway. For the purpose of this <br />Ordinance, a back-to-back or V -type sign shall be <br />considered as one structure. <br />- 4- <br />
