• <br />• <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Michael Grochala <br />MEETING DATE: July 13, 2015 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 15-73, Authorizing <br />Acquisition of Temporary and Permanent <br />Easements, Birch Street Utility and Turn Lane <br />Improvements <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting council action to authorize acquisition of easements for construction of the <br />Birch Street Turn Lane improvements. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council took action on February 23, 2015 to order the Birch Street Utility and Turn <br />Lane improvements. <br />Construction of the turn lane improvements requires the acquisition of both a temporary and <br />permanent easement to construct the bypass lane on the north side of Birch Street, east of <br />Centerville Road. The easements size and proposed payment are as follows: <br />Easement Type <br />Size (Sq. Ft.) <br />Amount <br />Permanent <br />3,425 <br />$2,192.00 <br />Temporary <br />9,576 (Sq. Ft) <br />$ 345.00 <br />$2,537.00 <br />WSB and Associates prepared the appraisal reports and worked through the acquisition process <br />with the property owner. The owner has consented to the acquisition and the amount. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 15-73. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />• 1. Resolution No. 15-73 <br />
