• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM 1B <br />STAFF ORIGNINATOR: Jean Viger, Deputy Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: September 8, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution 03-114, Application for Lino <br />Lakes Lions Club to Conduct Off -Site Gambling and <br />Resolution 03-154, Approval of Application for a <br />Temporary On -Sale Liquor License <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />A licensed organization may conduct lawful gambling on premises other than the organization's <br />permitted premises for one day per calendar year or within a 12 -consecutive -day period in a <br />calendar year in connection with community events. <br />The Lino Lakes Lions Club is having its annual "Pheasant Feed" on October 4, 2003. Attached is <br />the signed lease and the application to conduct off-site gambling at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, <br />171 Elm Street, Lino Lakes. <br />The Lino Lakes Lions Club has also requested approval of a Temporary On -Sale Liquor License <br />application in conjunction with this request. This license will allow the Lions Club to serve <br />liquor at the event. I have attached a copy of the application. A copy of the Certificate of Liquor <br />Liability Insurance is on file in the City Clerk's office for review. I have checked with the State, <br />and there will be sufficient time for them to process this application prior to the event. <br />After receipt of the applications, I requested the Lino Lakes Police Department to conduct a <br />background check. Approval is contingent upon favorable results of the background check. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Resolutions 03-114 and 03-154 <br />2.
