Blair, City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: October 27, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Consider Adoption of Resolution No. 03-197, <br />Authorizing New Tobacco License for <br />Lino Lakes Quik Stop, 6501 Ware Road, <br />Spirit Hills Center <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />An application has been submitted by Terry Anderson and James Kroska for a tobacco <br />license at their new convenience store, Lino Lakes Quik Stop, located in the Spirit Hills <br />area at 6501 Ware Road. They are requesting the license for the purpose of selling <br />cigarettes at their convenience store. Their application is complete, and they have paid <br />the necessary fees. <br />Sergeant Steve Mortensen conducted a background investigation relative to this <br />application as required and found no problems nor any reason to deny the application. <br />In accordance with the City Code Section 602, Regulating the Sale, Possession and use of <br />Tobacco Products and Tobacco Related Devices, this new business requires a Tobacco <br />License from the City of Lino Lakes to engage in sales of any tobacco products, and this <br />business qualifies for such Tobacco License. <br />The applicant is fully aware license approval is subject to all the provisions and <br />conditions of the laws of the city, state and of the federal government. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Application for Tobacco License <br />2. Deny Application for Tobacco License <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option 1 <br />
