Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: December 15, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 03-228, Approving Change Order No. 1 and Payment <br />Request No. 5, Elm Street Reconstruction <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the July 14, 2003 meeting, City Council awarded the EIm Street Reconstruction <br />contract to F.M. Frattalone in the amount of $1,513,221.79. <br />The Change Order addresses the design changes required by the RCWD, subgrade <br />improvements, and changes in restoration for the Elm Street Reconstruction Project. <br />This lowers the total project contract to $1,457,453.34. A complete breakdown is <br />spelled out in the attached Change Order. <br />It is staff's recommendations to approve Change Order No. 1, which results in a total <br />project cost decrease of $55,768.45 and authorize Payment No. 5 in the amount of <br />$54,683.50. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 03-228, approving Change Order No.1 and Payment <br />Request No. 5 for the EIm Street Reconstruction Project. <br />3. Not adopt Resolution No. 03-228. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 2 - Staff recommends adoption of Resolution Number 03-228. <br />
