Enivonmental Board <br />April 29, 2015 <br />Page 2 <br />4. OPEN MIKE <br />Chair Heiskary declared Open Mike at 6:35 p.m. <br />There was no one present for Open Mike. Closed 6:36 p.m. <br />5. ACTION ITEMS (No Action Items) <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. 10,000 Trees for Lino Lakes <br />Mr. Aselson gave the summay of trees order by Lino Lakes residents. There were <br />362 trees and shrubs from Anoka County Conservation District and 6 trees from the <br />Tree Trust. <br />There were 1,000 trees planted by the Centennial Student Council off of Moliter <br />Road. The city will grow and dig them up later to give the trees out to residents that <br />want to replace ash trees. <br />Ms. Bor suggested that we get the information out earlier for the replacement of <br />trees hopefully in the January newsletter. <br />Mr. Asleson will make the desision of doing the tree sale in-house or with the Tree <br />Trust next year. <br />B. Emerald Ash Borer Mangement Plan Revisit <br />Mr. Heiskary explained that the Emerald Ash Borer Managaement Plan was <br />discussed and the final report was written up in 2011. <br />Mr. Asleson stated that what is different from other cities plans is that the Lino <br />Lakes has come up with a efficient way to get rid of material when it comes to <br />cutting down the diseased trees. <br />The board would like to admend the plan; page 2, number 2 would like to have the <br />addendum read: <br />That in the event of tree replacement, the city will educate and share information of <br />opportunity for cost effective tree replacement. <br />Mr. Sullivan asked if there is a grant with the state or county that would deal with <br />tree replacement. <br />Mr. Asleson said he would look and see what grants are out there. <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br />
