Councilmember Dahl introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />LINO LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 01-105 <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING TAX ABATEMENT POLICY <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Sections 469.1812 through 469.1815 (the "Statutes") <br />allows the governing body of a political subdivision to grant an abatement of the taxes <br />imposed by the political subdivision on a parcel of property; and <br />WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes (the "City") has determined that <br />it is appropriate to consider tax abatement when it is in the public interest because it will <br />1) increase or preserve the tax base: 2) provide employment opportunities in the political <br />subdivision; 3) provide or help acquire or construct public facilities: 4) help redevelop or <br />renew blighted areas: or 5) help provide access to services for residents of the political <br />subdivision, pursuant to the Statutes. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota, that the Tax Abatement Policy, contained in Exhibit A of this resolution, is <br />hereby approved, ratified, established, and adopted and shall be placed on file at the City <br />Hall. <br />Dated: July 23, 2001 <br />Ma or <br />ATTEST: <br />Cle-Tr;asurer <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded . y member <br />O'Donnell <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: Bergeson, Carlson, Dahl, Reinert and O'Donnell <br />and the following voted against same: None. <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
