STAFF ORIGINATOR:
CITY COUNCIL
MEETING DATE:
TOPIC:
ACTION REQUESTED:
BACKGROUND:
AGENDA ITEM 7B
Michael Grochala
August 13, 2001
Resolution 01-111
Licensing Agreement with Anoka County GIS
3/5 Vote
Staff is in the process of preparing the Comprehensive Plan for submittal to the
Metropolitan Council. As part of this process we have recognized that the parcel base
map information, used thoughout the plan, is approximately three years old and does
not accurately reflect current development patterns, streets, etc.
The Anoka County Department of Geographic Information Services currently maintains
a digital parcel base map and an attached property tax database file. Anoka County
does provide this information to local units of government, updated quarterly, for a one-
time $250.00 setup charge and a $250 annual fee. This is the least expensive, most
efficient method of obtaining this type of data.
If obtained, this information would be distributed to the City's consultants for use in
updating, the Comprehensive Plan maps as well as zoning, park, and utility maps.
Additionally, the city will have at is disposal, current property information, updated in
January, April, July, and October of each year, for each parcel within the city.
OPTIONS:
1. Approve Resolution No. 01-111.
2. Deny Resolution No. 01-111.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option 1.
ATTACHMENTS:
1. Resolution No. 01-111
2. Sample Licensing Agreement
