CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 4C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Public Safety Director John Swenson <br />MEETING DATE: September 28, 2015 <br />TOPIC: Acceptance of Tribute to the Troops/Patriot Ride Donation <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Tribute to the Troops is an organization of grateful Americans dedicated to preserving the <br />memory of those men and women of our nation's military who lost their lives while bravely <br />protecting our freedom. They are one of the organizations that benefits from the annual <br />Minnesota Patriot Ride. <br />BACKGROUND <br />On June 20, 2015 the Lino Lakes Public Safety Department — Police Reserves assisted the 2015 <br />Patriot Ride by providing traffic control as the ride made its way through the City of Lino <br />Lakes. Tribute to the Troops wishes to donate $300.00 for the purchase of Police Reserve <br />Class B Uniforms for Police Reserve Personnel in appreciation for the Reserve unit's assistance <br />on June 20th <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that Council accept the donation of $300 toward the purchase of Lino <br />Lakes Public Safety Police Reserve Class B Uniforms. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br />
