Mr. Lindman <br />is looking for direction from the board on whether or not to apply for a variance. <br />The board expressed their concerns regarding the impact of the variance on Birch Street, <br />since it is a county road, but ultimately encouraged Mr. Lindman to apply for a variance. <br />Open Mike was closed at 6:40 p.m. <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Rush Line Corridor Update, Mike Rogers <br />Katie Larsen, City Planner, introduced Mike Rogers of the Ramsey County Regional <br />Railroad Authority. Mr. Rogers presented an analysis and update on the Rush Line <br />project. <br />5. ACTION ITEMS <br />A. PUBLIC HEARING to consider Text Amendment to NB, Neighborhood <br />Business District to allow Veterinary Hospitals with Conditional Use Permit <br />Ms. Larsen introduced Keith Dahl, Community Development Intern. Mr. Dahl presented <br />the staff report. Staff recommends approval of the text amendment. <br />The board voiced their concerns, which included: <br />• Impact to the Centennial Veterinary Clinic <br />• Soundproofing <br />• Previous concept plans for the area <br />Applicants Brian and Donnell Hansen, 6511 Ware Road, addressed the board's concerns <br />and explained their future plans for the property. <br />Chair Tralle declared the Public Hearing open at 7:28 p.m. <br />There was no one present for the Public Hearing. <br />Mr. Laden made a MOTION to close the Public Hearing at 7:29 p.m. Motion was <br />supported by Mr. Evenson. Motion carried 4 - 0. (Tralle abstained.) <br />Mr. Evenson made a MOTION to recommend approval of the text amendment. <br />Motion was supported by Mr. Kassner. Motion carried 5 — 0. <br />6.
