CITY OF LINO LAKES
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MINUTES
DATE: November 5, 2015
MEMBERS
PRESENT: Nathan Vojtech, Lou Masonick, Thomas Colgan, Rebecca Glewwe,
Julie Schwartz, Don Johnson
MEMBERS
ABSENT: Tami Wier, Chad Wagner
OTHERS PRESENT: Michael Grochala, Keith Dahl
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Julie Schwartz to approve the minutes of August 6, 2015. The motion was
seconded by Nathan Vojtech and passed unanimously.
NORTH OAKS CONCEPT PUD (Planned Unit Development)
Mr. Grochala, Director, presented the concept plans from the North Oaks Company.
The proposed master planned residential community is a PUD located south of County Road
J/Ash Street, west of CSAH 21/Centerville Road and north of Wilkinson Lake Boulevard. It
contains 2 parcels totaling approximately 46 gross acres consisting of 27 single family homes, 17
(34 Units) twin homes and a 75 -100 senior rental housing totaling 136-161 units with no
commercial component.
Mr. Grochala asked the board to discuss the necessity of having a commercial component with
the site or how we could accommodate one in the future if markets change.
The committee discussed the opportunities and the issues with the commercial component;
analyzing the intersection as it is an entrance into Lino Lakes. There was a consensus with the
committee members that a current market study should be completed to help guide the
development in the area.
BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION PROGRAM
Mr. Grochala briefly mentioned that Ms. Barsness is still working on developing more steps for a
working plan and a cost estimate breakdown.
