Council Member Dahl <br />moved its adoption: <br />introduced the following resolution and <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 01 - 174 <br />WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes has utility lines that service the energy needs of <br />residents, and that power outages can be minimized by proactive planing and <br />maintenance of plants under these lines, <br />AND WHEREAS, The Twin Cities Tree Trust has initiated a program called Trade -A - <br />Tree that forms a partnership between The City of Lino Lakes, The Twin Cities Tree <br />Trust and Xcel Energy for the purpose of increasing the quantity and quality of trees in <br />the community while reducing power -line maintenance and power outages, <br />AND WHEREAS, The Twin Cities Tree Trust will inventory affected trees, communicate <br />with residents and the City of Lino Lakes on targeted locations, <br />AND WHEREAS, Xcel energy will remove above -ground portions of the targeted trees <br />at no cost, <br />AND WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes would treat or remove stumps, <br />AND WHEREAS, The Twin Cities Tree Trust would provide up to $200 to plant two or <br />more new trees <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />1. That the City of Lino Lakes enter into the Twin Cities Tree Trust Trade -A -Tree <br />Program and provide the resources for stump removal or treatment and new tree <br />planting. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 22nd day of October, 2001. <br />Ann Bla.
