AGENDA ITEM 7F <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: James Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: April 8, 2002 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 02 — 28, Order Plans and Specifications — West Shadow Ponds <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />' BACKGROUND: <br />The preliminary plat for West Shadow Ponds was approved in 2001. The developer, Richard S. <br />Carlson & Associates, has submitted a petition to have certain improvements installed by the <br />City. All costs for these improvements will be assessed back to West Shadow Ponds per the <br />development agreement. The improvements to be installed under City contract include the <br />watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and the road pavement including aggregate base. The <br />developer's contractor will complete all site grading including construction of the roadway up to <br />the top of the subgrade. The project limits are from 62"d Street to the south end of existing West <br />Shadow Lake Drive. <br />The developer remains responsible for adhering to all of the conditions of the preliminary plat <br />approval. The trail on 62nd Street must be installed, including bituminous, before he can begin <br />site grading. All of the site grading must be completed according to the approved plan, and <br />verified, prior to the City proceeding with City -contracted work. <br />Assuming we have all the necessary base information from the developer's engineer, if ordered, <br />the plans and specifications could be completed in time for consideration at the May 13, 2002, <br />City Council meeting. <br />The engineering budget for preparation of the plans and specifications is $7,800. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 02 - 28, order the plans and specifications for the West Shadow <br />Ponds. <br />3. Not adopt Resolution No. 02 — 28. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 2 - Staff recommends that Resolution Number 02 - 28 be adopted. <br />
