CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 02-103 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has prepared an updated Comprehensive Plan to guide community growth in a rational and responsible manner through 2020, and WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan is the result of an extensive planning process, including the work of a special citizen task force and discussion by other citizen boards, and WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Board held a public hearing on the Plan on October 14, 1998 and recommended approval of the Plan, and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the recommendations and discussion offered by the citizens of Lino Lakes and has agreed on revisions, and WHEREAS, the City Council conducted numerous discussions and held an additional public hearing on June 11 and June 25, 2001, and WHEREAS, MN Statutes 462.353 authorizes the City to carry on comprehensive municipal planning activities for guiding the future development and improvement of the city and to prepare, adopt and amend a comprehensive municipal plan and implement such plan by ordinance and other official actions, and WHEREAS, MN Statutes 473.858 requires the City to prepare a comprehensive plan and submit it to the Metropolitan Council for review, and WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes City Council recognized in Resolution 01-88 that review of the Comprehensive Plan by the Metropolitan Council, or other information received by the City Council, may result in the need for minor revisions to ensure consistency with metropolitan system plans as required by law, and WHEREAS, the City Council recognized in Resolution 01-88 the potential need to revisit the Comprehensive Plan and approve any such minor revisions before the Plan is implemented, and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council completed its review of the Lino Lakes Comprehensive Plan on August 14, 2002, and approved the plan with conditions and recommendations.
