AGENDA ITEM 4A
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Linda Waite Smith, City Administrator
MEETING DATE: November 25, 2002
TOPIC: Consider Resolution 02-170 Supporting Formation of
Tri -city Coalition for Issues Related to I -35E
VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5
BACKGROUND:
On September 12, 2002, the cities of Hugo, Centerville and Lino Lakes
convened a joint meeting to discuss a number of items, including issues related
to the I -35E interchange at CSAH 14. At that meeting it was suggested that the
three cities, as well as affected counties and other jurisdictions, form a coalition
to study this area and recommend actions to the appropriate goveming bodies.
The cities of Centerville and Hugo have adopted resolutions supporting the
formation of a coalition. At a September work session the Lino Lakes city council
indicated support for the concept. Resolution 02-170 formalizes that support.
OPTIONS:
1. Adopt Resolution 02-170 Supporting Formulation of a Coaltion to Address Issues
Related to the I -35E Interchange at CSAH 14.
2. Decline to Adopt Resolution 02-170.
3. Return to staff for further review and/or action.
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Option #1: Adopt Resolution 02-170.
