Council Member Dahl introduced the following resolution <br />and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 00 - 03 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM THE CIRCLE -LEX LADIES <br />AUXILIARY VFW POST #6583 FOR THREE (3) BALLISTICS VESTS <br />WHEREAS, bullet proof vests (ballistics vests) have become a <br />standard piece of police equipment due to the ever <br />increasing violence in our society, <br />WHEREAS, funding for bullet proof vests are considered a piece <br />of clothing and thereby not included as a Police <br />Department budget item, <br />WHEREAS, the Circle -Lex Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #6583 has made <br />a donation in the amount of $1800.00 to the City of <br />Lino Lakes for the cost of three (3) ballistic vests; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the monies will be appropriated to the General Fund in <br />the following manner: <br />Increase Revenue - Contributions <br />Increase Expenditures -Police <br />Uniforms <br />$1800.00 <br />$1800.00 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lino Lakes <br />hereby accepts the donation of $1800.00 for the cost of three <br />bullet proof vests and wishes to express its gratitude to the <br />Circle -Lex Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #6583 for its donation. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 10th day of January, <br />2000. <br />(-1/COL AlitA7WX <br />Ry hel Gaustad/CMC, City Clerk -Treasurer <br />Joh 'Be es on, Mayor <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Council Member O'Donnell and upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bergeson, <br />Carlson, Dahl, O'Connell <br />The following voted against same: none <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
