AGENDA ITEM 6L <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Powell, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: May 8, 2000 <br />TOPIC: Resolution 00-54, Municipal State Aid Road Designations <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Cities that qualify for participation in the Municipal State Aid System (MSAS) are <br />allowed to designate roadways to the system based on the amount of improved <br />roadways within the City. Each year cities are allowed to revise their MSAS by <br />adding or revoking MSAS mileage. Council approval of the additions to the <br />MSAS is required prior to State Aid recognizing them. <br />The proposed additions to the Lino Lakes Municipal State Aid System are as <br />follows: <br />Roadway <br />Elm Street <br />Fourth Avenue <br />Andall Street <br />Wood Duck Trail <br />From <br />Sunset Road <br />Main Street <br />Fourth Avenue <br />Main Street <br />To <br />Second Avenue <br />Andall Street <br />Wood Duck Trail <br />Andall Street <br />Length (miles) <br />.549 <br />.716 <br />.710 <br />.294 <br />2.269 <br />After adding these segments, the City will have .493 miles of undesignated <br />MSAS roadways. This mileage will be carried over and considered for <br />designation next year. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution No. 00-54 with revisions. <br />3. Adopt Resolution No. 00-54. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 3 - Staff recommends that Council adopt Resolution No. 00-54. <br />
