WS — Item #7 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item No. 7 <br />Date: December 7, 2015 <br />To: City Council <br />From: Michael Grochala, Community Development Director <br />Re: Cans for Park Program <br />Background <br />In 2012 the City Council initiated the "Cans for the Park" program. Using available grant <br />funding from Anoka County and contributions from Ace Solid Waste large collection <br />containers where placed at Centennial Fire Station No. 1 (Circle Pines) and No. 2 for <br />collection of aluminum cans. Proceeds from the aluminum can recycling is placed in the <br />"Dedicated Parks" fund and reserved for park improvements. To date $1,119.04 has been <br />collected from the program. <br />Requested Council Direction <br />None required. <br />Attachments <br />None. <br />
