0 North Memorial <br />Health Care <br />FIRST RESPONDER AGENCY <br />MEDICAL DIRECTION <br />Equipment <br />Only equipment approved by the Medical Director may be used by the first <br />responder team. Repair and maintenance of this equipment is the responsibility <br />of the first responder agency. <br />Protocols <br />North Memorial First Responder protocols, or BLS protocols if applicable, must be <br />utilized. <br />In addition to the First Responder BLS Protocols, the agency has chosen to <br />maintain the following skills. All skills must be maintained to the minimum <br />standards indicated. (Valid only if checked with typewritten "x" mark) <br />❑ Blood Glucose Measurement (Glucometer). Individuals credentialed at the <br />EMT level or higher may perform blood glucose administration. The Agency has <br />the responsibility to maintain control checks and other maintenance required by <br />the device manufacturer. <br />❑ Placement of Advanced Airway (King Airway). Verification of proficiency is <br />required annually by a medical director or appropriate delegated authority. <br />Failure to demonstrate proficiency will result in suspension of privileges to <br />perform the skill. <br />❑ Placement of Intravenous Line. Individuals credentialed at the paramedic <br />level in the state of Minnesota may be authorized to place intravenous lines within <br />their role. Verification of proficiency will occur annually by a medical director or <br />designee. <br />Reporting <br />Medical Director requires a patient encounter form and/or defibrillator code <br />summary if applicable. <br />Employees Not Agents of North Memorial Health Care <br />Employees of the first responder agency are not agents of North Memorial Health <br />Care or its subsidiaries and shall not advertise themselves as such. Agency <br />employees acting under the terms of this contract are agents of the first <br />responder agency.
