F. Provide Owner a minimum of 1 -week notice prior to checkout procedures so that <br />operating personnel can be scheduled to participate. <br />G. Operation and Maintenance Manuals must be approved by the Engineer prior to <br />checkout services on equipment. <br />3.05 SYSTEM AND EQUIPMENT START-UP AND DEMONSTRATION <br />A. Provide written certification that checkout services have been completed and 1 -week <br />notice prior to start-up and demonstration. <br />B. Place various items of equipment into operation along with related piping and control <br />systems at times acceptable to Owner. After satisfactory start-up of these systems and <br />their related equipment, they will remain in continuous or intermittent operation as <br />required by the Owner. <br />C. All equipment and accessories shall be adjusted and calibrated prior to any start-up and <br />any equipment placed into temporary operation prior to Final Completion of the Total <br />Project shall be readjusted and/or recalibrated as necessary. <br />D. Contractor shall supervise, control, and be responsible for operation and maintenance of <br />new equipment and/or systems during start-up. <br />E. Contractor shall supervise, control, and be responsible for operation and maintenance of <br />new equipment and/or systems during a period of 3 calendar days after the new <br />equipment and/or system is placed in operation. Contractor shall remain responsible for <br />making any required changes, repairs, or replacements to the new installation for a period <br />of 3 calendar days after the Project is determined to be Substantially Complete. <br />F. No system start-ups will be held on holidays, Fridays, or the day before a holiday. <br />3.06 INSTRUCTION OF OWNER'S EMPLOYEES <br />A. Following start-up and demonstration, the Contractor shall provide competent personnel <br />who fully understand the operation of the equipment to instruct the Owner in the <br />operation and maintenance of each item and system. <br />B. Such instruction shall take place prior to acceptance of the installation by the Owner, at <br />such a time or times that are acceptable to Owner. <br />C. Training time requirements for equipment and systems are included within these <br />Specifications. The stated training times are the time required for operator instruction only. <br />Time spent for checking systems, testing, balancing, calibration, and start-up are not <br />considered instruction or training time. <br />D. The time of instruction specified shall be time actually spent at the Site and shall not <br />include travel time.
