CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION #70-89 <br />A RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO ANNEXATION GOALS APPEARING IN <br />THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE'S DRAFT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville has prepared a draft <br />comprehensive plan; and <br />WHEREAS, adjacent municipalities are afforded by law the <br />right to review and comment on plan content as it affects <br />them; and <br />WHEREAS, the draft plan submitted to Lino Lakes for review <br />includes "Annexation Goals" and "Annexation Policies" that <br />include annexation of approximately 110 acres of land within <br />the corporate limits of the City of Lino Lakes; and <br />WHEREAS, the land at issue includes the southwest quadrant of <br />the I -35E and County Road 14 diamond interchange; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes is able to provide full <br />municipal services to the land including fire, police, <br />utilities, and planning; and <br />WHEREAS, landowners planning and engineering representatives <br />have contacted the City of Lino Lakes within the last 30 days <br />regarding development of the land; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes' Economic Development Committee has <br />determined that orderly development of the land adjacent to <br />the interchange is most likely to occur with only a single <br />unit of local government involved in the planning process; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville does not maintain the same <br />high-quality development standards followed by the Lino Lakes <br />Planning and Zoning Board and City Council; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Lino Lakes goes on public record as opposing any <br />annexation of city land to the City of Centerville and hereby <br />directs its administrative and planning staff to bring this <br />opposition to the attention of the City of Centerville and to <br />all review agencies including the Twin Cities Metropolitan <br />Council. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 25th day of <br />September, 1989. <br />'r lynjG ' Anderson <br />Cit Clerk <br />Benson <br />Mayor <br />
