Council member Kuether introduced the <br />following resolution and move its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92 - 24 <br />RESOLUTION CALLING ON THE ANOKA COUNTY BOARD TO FULLY <br />FUND THE MOBILE DIGITAL TERMINAL PROJECT, A SHARED <br />COMMUNICATIONS PROJECT BENEFITTING ALL ANOKA COUNTY <br />RESIDENTS. <br />WHEREAS, the Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement Council is a <br />legal entity authorized by Minnesota Statutes 471.59; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes, along with other cities and <br />the County of Anoka have signed a Joint Powers Agreement to act <br />within a regional framework, for the common good of all residents <br />of Anoka County who are in need of Public Safety services; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement <br />Council is to address criminal justice issues and concerns which <br />are of regional significance, through research, recommendation, <br />initiation and accomplishment of those functions of common concern, <br />which are most efficiently and cost effectively provided in a <br />regional framework, including Public Safety communications and <br />dispatching, criminal investigation and training services for <br />County Public Safety personnel; and <br />WHEREAS, for the last two decades the Anoka County Joint Law <br />Enforcement Council has achieved its goals, and continues to <br />provide cost effective Public Safety services of the highest <br />quality to all Anoka County residents; and <br />WHEREAS, the Joint Powers Agreement creating the Anoka County <br />Joint Law Enforcement Council, provides for the funding of Council <br />activities through the county levy by directing that the county <br />shall proceed to levy taxes as needed to fund the budget as <br />approved; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />City of Lino Lakes calls on the Anoka County Board of <br />Commissioners, to fully fund the Mobile Digital Terminal Project in <br />a manner consistent with the Joint Powers Agreement, and consistent <br />with the past practice here in Anoka county, and to continue to <br />provide financial support for Joint Law Enforcement Council <br />Projects as approved by the County Board, for the common benefit of <br />all county residents. <br />
