CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-80 <br />RESOLUTION ELIMINATING THE CITY'S RURAL EXPANSION (RE) <br />LAND USE DESIGNATION AND REPLACING IT WITH RURAL (R) <br />LAND USE DESIGNATION <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Lino Lakes policy of <br />allowing residential development of more than one unit per ten <br />acres is not in conformance with the Metropolitan Council's rural <br />residential density policy, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes would like to be in conformance <br />with the Metropolitan Council's rural residential density policy <br />and its intent which is: <br />1. preserve agricultural land and activities <br />2. preserve the "rural character" <br />3. protect the natural environment <br />4. avoid excessive, costly local service demands that are a <br />result of development <br />5. avoid premature extension of metropolitan services and <br />facilities, particularly sanitary sewer facilities <br />6. allow for urban uses that require isolated, spacious <br />rural location. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has submitted a <br />Amendment to the Metropolitan Council, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes Comprehensive <br />been reviewed by the Metropolitan Council Staff <br />approval to the Metropolitan Council, and <br />Comprehensive Plan <br />Plan Amendment has <br />and recommended for <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council adopted its staff report and <br />findings and approved the Lino Lakes Comprehensive Plan Amendment <br />changing the Rural Expansion (RE) land use area and replacing it <br />with the Rural (R) lane use area, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA: <br />That the Rural Expansion (RE) land use designation on the City of <br />Lino Lakes Comprehensive Plan shall be changed to a Rural (R) land <br />use area designation, as approved by the Metropolitan Council. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 22nd day of June, 1992 <br />6 CL <br />Marlyn G Anderson, Clerk -Treasurer <br />Vernon F.
