Council Member Neal <br />and moved its adoption: <br />introduced the following resolution <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92 — 148 <br />1993 STAR OF THE NORTH GAMES <br />WHEREAS, the Star of the North Games is an Olympic -style, multi - <br />sport festival of competitions open to all Minnesotans <br />regardless of age or ability; and <br />WHEREAS, the Star of the North State Games promote health, fitness <br />and good sportsmanship through participation while <br />fostering the development of Minnesota's amateur sport <br />governing associations; and <br />WHEREAS, representatives from Metro North communities, school <br />districts and agencies have been contacted to serve as <br />hosts for the Star of the North Summer Games on June <br />24-27, 1993; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined that there is significant support <br />and interest from local sport groups, businesses and <br />community leaders in hosting the 1993 Star of the North <br />Summer Games; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Lino Lakes that it <br />endorses the 1993 Star of the North Summer Games and will support <br />the efforts of the local organizing committee by making its <br />community facilities available for the 1993 Star of the North <br />Summer Games, as well as provide limited in-kind services and <br />support to conduct the competitions and special events associated <br />with the 1993 Star of the North Summer Games. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 28th day of December, <br />1992. <br />Vernon F. Anderson, Clerk -Treasurer <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Council Member Elliott and upon vote being taken <br />thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Elliott, Neal, Reinert, <br />Bergeson. <br />The following voted against same: None, Council Member Kuether was absent. <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
