Council Member Neal introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 30-93 <br />RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE NON -FEASIBILITY OF A JOINT LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITIES OF LINO LAKES, CIRCLE PINES, <br />LEXINGTON, AND CENTERVILLE <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />WHEREAS, The above referenced cities engaged in a fact finding study <br />to determine the feasibility of a joint law enforcement <br />agreement, and <br />WHEREAS, A number of law enforcement options were studied ranging from <br />Ramsey and Anoka County proposals, to a combination of existing <br />police services provided by the participating communities, and <br />WHEREAS, The options for police services were compared to other metropolitan <br />communities of similar size and needs: <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br />Upon complete review of the information provided to the Common Ground Committee, <br />the Lino Lakes City Council goes on record of not supporting a joint law enforcement <br />agency. Justification for this action is based upon the lack of significant cost savings, <br />as well as the inability to provide a multi -service level of law enforcement protection <br />for all four communities involved. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 28th Day of June, 1993. <br />)1 rLkaaA4e1,- <br />Marilyn G.
