Council Member Elliott introduced the following resolution <br />and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 95 - 93 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE MINNESOTA POLICE <br />RECRUITMENT SYSTEM <br />WHEREAS: the Lino Lakes City Council is authorized by Minnesota <br />Statutes 471.59 to enter into joint and cooperative <br />agreements with other governmental units; and <br />WHEREAS: the Lino Lakes City council has reviewed a joint and <br />cooperative agreement among Minnesota municipalities and <br />other law enforcement agencies which has established the <br />Minnesota Police Recruitment System (MPRS); and <br />WHEREAS: the purpose of the MPRS is to recruit candidates for <br />entry-level police positions in the cooperating agencies <br />and to assist the cooperating agencies in evaluating <br />candidates for these positions; and <br />WHEREAS: the Lino Lakes City Council has determined that it will <br />be advantageous to the City to participate in the MPRS; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota, as follows: <br />1. The Mayor and the Chief of Police hereby are authorized to <br />execute, on behalf of the City, the Joint and Cooperative <br />Agreement which has established the MPRS and which provides <br />for City participation therein. <br />2. Randy Schumacher and David J. Pecchia hereby are designated as <br />the City's initial Director and Alternate Director, <br />respectively, in the MPRS. <br />3. The City Clerk hereby is directed to file a duly executed copy <br />of the Joint and Cooperative Agreement as provided therein, <br />together with a certified copy of this resolution. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 13th day of December, <br />1993. <br />Vernon F.
