COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 27, 1997 <br /> RESOLUTIONS: <br /> Resolution No. 97 - 71, Accepting Donation Approved <br /> from Friends of the Parks Foundation <br /> Resolution No. 97 - 72, Accepting Donation Approved <br /> from PDI <br /> OPEN MIKE <br /> No one appeared under Open Mike. <br /> 6:30 P.M. -PUBLIC HEARING, VACATION OF JON AVENUE FROM LILAC STREET <br /> NORTH TO THOMAS STREET,THOMAS STREET FROM JON AVENUE <br /> WESTERLY TO LAURIE AVENUE, INDUSTRIAL BOULEVARD FROM LILAC <br /> STREET SOUTH, APOLLO BUSINESS PARK, MARY KAY WYLAND <br /> Ms. Wyland explained Jon Avenue is an unconstructed half-right-of-way north of Lilac Street <br /> and immediately west of the Behm's Century Farm 2nd Addition. The right-of-way is no longer <br /> necessary for street purposes and development in this area will not require the roadway to be <br /> constructed. She recommended vacation of the right-of-way and adoption of the Resolution No. <br /> 97 - 67. Ms. Wyland advised the vacated right-of-way will be returned to the adjacent property <br /> owners who have indicated no objection to the proposed vacation. <br /> Mayor Landers opened the public hearing at 6:37 P.M. <br /> There being no public input, Mayor Landers requested a motion to close the public hearing. <br /> Council Member Bergeson moved to close the public hearing at 6:37 P.M. Council Member <br /> Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Consideration of Resolution No. 97 - 67, Vacating a Portion of Jon Avenue (4/5ths Vote) - <br /> Ms. Wyland recommended adoption of Resolution No. 97 - 67 which will vacate a portion of Jon <br /> Avenue. <br /> Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Resolution No. 97 - 67 as presented. Council Member <br /> Lyden seconded the motion.
