Member Kuether introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO.9 7 —J 38 <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING ANOKA COUNTY TO <br />DECERTIFY TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT NO. <br />1-3 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes (the "City") established Tax <br />Increment Financing District No. 1-3 ("TIF District No. 1-3") on October 10, 1989 in order to <br />assist in the redevelopment of the site of the former Ross liquor store; and <br />WHEREAS, administrative responsibility for TIF District No. 1-3 was transferred in 1990 <br />by the City to the Lino Lakes Economic Development Authority (the "Authority"); and <br />WHEREAS, following establishment of TIF District No. 1-3, no development or <br />redevelopment occurred on the property; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 469.176, subd. 1 a prohibits payment of tax <br />increment to an authority after three years from the date of certification of a tax increment district <br />unless within said three years, bonds are sold, property is acquired or public improvements are <br />constructed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The City joins with the Authority in requesting that Anoka County decertify TIF <br />District No. 1-3, effective immediately. <br />2. City staff and consultants are authorized and directed to take any other actions <br />necessary or convenient to comply with the intent of this resolution. <br />
