Council Member Lyden introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION 98-109 <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING INTO THE CITY OF LINO LAKES PERSONNEL <br />POLICY SECTION 5.3 EXPLAINING COBRA COVERAGE <br />WHEREAS, the federal Consolidation Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), <br />29 United States Code 1161 & Minnesota Statute 62A.17 gives <br />employees and their qualified beneficiaries the opportunity to continue <br />health insurance coverage with the city after a qualifying event, and <br />WHEREAS, the Personnel Policy Handbook is the appropriate place to make <br />employees aware of their benefits and rights, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lino <br />Lakes hereby incorporates into the Personnel Policy Handbook Section 5.3 which will <br />make employees aware of their rights under COBRA <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 13th Day of July, 199: <br />SIL:1 <br />Kid'. er S v ', Mayor <br />L --11c, <br />Marlyn G. Anderson, Clerk/Treasurer <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member Dahl and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: Bergeson, Dahl, Lyden, Neal, Sullivan. <br />and the following voted against same: none. <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
