COUNCIL MINUTES <br />January 11, 2016 <br />APPROVED <br />90 Council Member Manthey asked if all the other cities have signed on and Director Swenson said he <br />91 isn't sure but the deadline for the grant is the end of January. <br />92 <br />93 Council Member Kusterman asked about a breakdown of how the grant funds would be spent. <br />94 <br />95 Council Member Kusterman moved to authorize the proper city officers to execute the Memorandum <br />96 of Understanding as recommended. Council Member Maher seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />97 on a voice vote. <br />98 <br />99 411) Public Safety Department Update — Public Safety Director Swenson updated the council: <br />100 <br />lol - Fire Services —The department is responding as the primary agency at this point and <br />102 everything is going well. Centennial Fire District (CFD) is on auto aid, meaning they are <br />103. paged for emergencies also but are not the primary responder; <br />104 - CFD Assets — the process to transfer assets as previously decided is underway and moving <br />105 forward; <br />106 - Police — One vacant police officer position is in the process of being filled; <br />107 - Fire Personnel — There are currently 39 trained fire fighters in place and one additional in <br />108 training; there are three individuals with job offers and three applicants awaiting the interview <br />109 process. <br />110 - Fire Permit Process — the permitting process for open burning is being handled at the Public <br />III Safety Department window. <br />112 <br />113 The council heard about the calls answered by the department so far. Mayor Reinert noted that the <br />114 service will be one hundred percent on line as of January 30. <br />115 <br />116 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />117 <br />118 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br />119 <br />120 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />121 <br />122 There was no report from the Community Development Department. <br />123 <br />124 UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />125 <br />126 There was no Unfinished Business. <br />127 <br />128 NEW BUSINESS <br />129 <br />130 Flood Plain Map Changes — Mayor Reinert noted that some changes have recently been implemented <br />131 by FEMA regarding the flood plain map and some of those changes impact the city. He's heard <br />132 about a couple of city residents being contacted by their insurance companies about now being <br />133 located in a flood plain. He wants residents to know that there is a process available through FEMA <br />134 to request a map change and avoid flood insurance if that is desired. <br />�3 <br />
