Council Member Neal introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99 - 97 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION FOR MINNESOTA LAWFUL <br />GAMBLING EXEMPT PERMIT LG 220 TO PERMIT RAFFLES AND TO <br />WAIVE THE 30 DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR THE LINO LAKES LIONS <br />CLUB INTERNATIONAL <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Lion Club International have made request to the City of <br />Lino Lakes to conduct raffles on behalf of Doug Hallin, and <br />WHEREAS, the raffle event is proposed to be held at the VFW Post 6583, 7868 Lake <br />Drive, on Saturday, October 16, 1999, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Gambling Control Board requires City of Lino Lakes to <br />acknowledge and approve an application for exempt permit 30 days prior to the <br />stated event, and <br />WHEREAS, on behalf of the City, the Council acknowledges this application and three <br />options for the city: <br />1. Approve the application: By taking no action, the city allows the <br />Board to issue a permit after 30 days. <br />2. Waive the above-mentioned waiting period: The city allows the <br />Board to issue a permit before 30 days. <br />3. Deny the application by passing a rejection resolution with in 30 <br />days of the event. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lino Lakes hereby grants <br />authorization to approve the Lino Lakes Lions Club International Lawful Gambling <br />Application for Exempt Permit to conduct raffles at the above-mentioned location. <br />NOW, THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lino Lakes hereby grants <br />authorization to waive the 30 day waiting period (option 2), thus granting permission to <br />conduct raffles within 30 days of Saturday, October 16, 1999. <br />tob''99. <br />O <br />Try. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 11th <br />ter, <br />RY - hetad,City CMC Clerk <br />an, Mayor <br />
