Council Member DaA--e- introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 99 -136 WHEREAS; the City of Lino Lakes wishes to provide for the beautification of the City of Lino Lakes by planting trees; and WHEREAS; the City of Lino Lakes recognizes the needs and benefits of plantings along Interstate 35W between residents of the Apollo Meadows Neighborhood; and WHEREAS; the City of Lino Lakes understands the benefits of screening and aesthetic improvement to the residents of Apollo Meadows and people traveling through Lino Lakes; and WHEREAS; the City of Lino Lakes appreciates and welcomes cooperative planting projects between the City, residents and outside agencies; and WHEREAS; the City of Lino Lakes will act as sponsoring unit for the project identified as The Apollo Meadows Roadside Partnership Project on the state trunk highway I 35W to be conducted during the period of April 1999 through May 1999 and that Marty Asleson is hereby authorized to apply to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for funding of this project on behalf of The City of Lino Lakes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: 1. Approves the initiation of a cooperative agreement between the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) and The City of Lino Lakes under the Mn/DOT Community Roadside Partners Program to plant a landscape buffer along Interstate 35W and between the Residential houses of the Apollo Meadows Neighborhood.
