P. A field check of all connections to existing equipment and piping for locations, <br />size, flange drilling, and flange facing shall be made prior to ordering material or <br />fabricating pipe for these connections. <br />3.07 Pipe and Pipe Fittings: <br />A. Hubless Cast Iron Pipe and Fittings <br />1. Install pipe and fittings in accordance with the manufacturer's <br />recommendations and standard industry practices to provide a complete <br />leak -proof system. <br />2. Provide nominal 1/8" per foot slope, unless noted otherwise, and maintain <br />piping concealed where indicated. <br />3. Provide adequate piping support to avoid sagging and do not exceed pipe <br />stresses allowed under ANSI B31.1. Provide vertical support on a <br />minimum of each floor level of the building and horizontal support at a <br />minimum of 10' in addition to support at each joint. <br />4. Make attachments of piping to roof drains, in accordance with the <br />manufacturer's recommendations for the type of roof drain encountered. <br />5. Provide insulation for rainwater leader piping and roof drain bowls. <br />3.08 Pipe Hangers, Supports and Anchors: <br />A. All hangers shall be attached to structural members. <br />B. At a minimum, piping shall be supported as follows: <br />1. Horizontal Steel Piping: <br />MAXIMUM DISTANCE <br />ROD MAXIMUM TO ELBOW, WALL, <br />PIPE SIZE DIAMETER SPACING VALVE OR EQUIPMENT <br />4" to 6" 3/4" 10'-0" 3'-0" <br />8" thru 10" 7/8" 10'-0" 3'-0" <br />12" 7/8" 12'-0" 3'-0" <br />Pipe 10" and larger shall be supported by steel rods attached to 4 x 3 x 1 /4 inch <br />steel angles spanning a minimum of 3 bar joists. <br />C. Regardless of any of the above listed hanger spacings, provide a hanger not more <br />than 12" from each change in direction of piping and at each drop and riser. <br />D. In no case will any pipe be installed where it is supported on or suspended from <br />another pipe, conduit or duct. <br />E.
