RMU Specific Actions: Marshan RMU <br />Actions identified by Issue Category <br />WATER RATE & QUANTITY <br />Evaluate opportunities for volume reduction in key subwatersheds including MAR -0059, MAR -108 and MAR -110. <br />Ensure that development and redevelopment construct onsite volume controls to alleviate the potential flooding without <br />increasing downstream discharge of urban hydrology to Marshan Lake. <br />WATER QUALITY <br />Address impairments for Marshan Lake as identified in the TMDL study and in the implementation plan when this <br />effort is completed. <br />Maximize load reduction on city projects. Evaluate cost effective options to improve water quality treatment BMPs for <br />both development and redevelopment projects to increase treatment efficiency beyond the minimum required. <br />Promote the use of rain gardens, native plantings, and reforestation within existing development areas as a means of <br />increasing infiltration, evapotranspiration, and filtration of runoff conveying pollutant loads to the lakes. <br />Investigate the potential for expanding storage and nutrient retention/removal from the existing loads (prior to <br />discharging to Marshan Lake ad'acent to the lower branch of 10-22-32 between I -35W and Lake Drive <br />WETLAND MANAGEMEN l' <br />Conduct wetland restoration projects for banking in the upper branches of the 10-22-32 ditch system and in the large <br />area in northwest Lino Lakes (the area generally located north of Carl Street and west of 4th Avenue) that is primarily <br />used for sod (MAR -097). <br />FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT <br />Evaluate and address floodplain impacts with new and redevelopment proposals in accordance with watershed and city <br />requirements. <br />PUBLIC DITCH SYSTEM <br />Collaborate with the RCWD to design culverts in catchments MAR -059, MAR -108, and MAR- 110 to resolve capacity <br />issues in Anoka County Ditch 10-22-32. <br />Review RCWD Consolidation Report for 10-22-32 to determine how much of a management plan the District has <br />developed to date. <br />GROUNDWATER MANAGEMENT <br />No implementation activities identified. <br />ml <br />NATURAL RESOURCES <br />Provide an open space connection between Columbus and Blaine as identified in the DNR Metro Greenways corridor. <br />Address corridor gap caused by habitat fragmentation from existing and planned housing and roads.
