CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 4A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Public Safety Director John Swenson <br />MEETING DATE: February 22, 2016 <br />TOPIC: Hire Building / Fire Inspector <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Lino Lakes Public Safety and Community Development Departments are requesting <br />Council approval to hire Brian Finke as a full time Building / Fire Inspector. <br />BACKGROUND <br />As approved in the 2016 Adopted Budget this position is funded within the Community <br />Development and Public Safety Departments; with each department funded at .5 FTE for this <br />full time position. This positon will provide 20 hours per week of building inspection duties <br />and 20 hours per week of fire inspection duties. <br />The hiring process included an application examination and scoring, interview panel and <br />background investigation. The hiring process identified several well qualified candidates with <br />Mr. Finke rising to the top of the hiring list. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Council approve the hiring of Brian Finke for the position of Building / <br />Fire Inspector effective March 14, 2016. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br />
