The <br />festival will take place the weekend of August 14, 15 and 16, 2015. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Events scheduled for this year's festival include a 5K Run, Kids Fun Run, a grand day parade on <br />Lake Drive, city ambassador program with coronation ceremony, American Legion softball <br />tournament at Sunrise Park, a petting zoo, CERT Team Blood Drive, Magic Bounce inflatables, <br />a business expo, kiddie carnival, family movie night, live music, free henna tattoos, free <br />caricature drawings and free comfort yoga. Many of the activities for this year's festival will <br />occur in the city's own Lino Park. <br />A special event application requesting city permission to conduct these activities has been <br />submitted to the city by Tanya Mozingo, Recreation Supervisor for the City of Lino. The use of <br />of city property has been approved by Rick DeGardner, Director of Public Services, and City of <br />Lino Lakes for some of these events. <br />Tanya Mozingo, Recreation Supervisor, has been working with city staff on the parade details <br />and has provided the following information. She anticipates approximately 60 units in the <br />parade; the proposed route for the parade would be the same as in 2014, running on Lake Drive <br />from Marketplace Drive to James Street, with a staging area in the Super Target parking lot. <br />Ms. Mozingo has obtained permission from Anoka County to conduct the parade on County <br />Road 23 (Lake Drive). <br />Proof of liability and insurance coverage has been submitted to the City by the vendors. <br />The Police Department has confirmed there will be one on-site police officer between noon — 4 <br />p.m. to direct people crossing the street on Lake Drive. Public Works will place road signs, <br />barricades cones, recycle cans, tables, etc. The applicant has all necessary permissions for use <br />of property involved in the event. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />
