CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 5A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />MEETING DATE: September 28, 2015 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 15-106, Supporting the Development of <br />the Bunker Chain of Lakes Regional Trail <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5) <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department is pursuing the development of a multi- <br />purpose regional trail system that would link local and state trail systems, regional parks, and <br />provide safe and convenient routes for non -motorized traffic to traverse the County. The Bunker <br />Chain of Lakes Regional Trail Corridor would link together the cities of Blaine, Lino Lakes and <br />Centerville, and provide pedestrian access to the recreational resources along its route. <br />`.. Ms. Karen Blaska, Park Planner for the Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department is in <br />attendance this evening to provide an overview for this project. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. 15-106 and offers its support to Anoka County in <br />its effort to cooperatively develop the Bunker Chain of Lakes Regional Trail Corridor. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Resolution No. 15-106 <br />Draft Bunker Chain of Lakes Regional Trail Master Plan <br />
