CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 15-135 RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL LAW 2015, CHAPTER 68 WHEREAS, the member cities of the Centennial Fire District sought legislation that allowed for the Centennial Fire Relief Association firefighter pensions to be portable for those firefighters joining the City of Lino Lakes Public Safety Fire Division; and WHEREAS, legislation was sponsored by the state representatives and senator for each city; and WHEREAS, the Pension Board approved certain changes; and WHEREAS, 2015 Laws, Chapter 68, Senate File 1398 was approved by both the House and Senate and signed by the Governor; and WHEREAS, Article 10 Particular Volunteer Fire Relief Association Changes, Subsection 2, Centennial Fire Relief Association: Lino Lakes Firefighter Transfers was approved; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to put the special law into effect; and WHEREAS, a Centennial Fire District firefighter can elect to become an emergency on-call firefighter employed by the City of Lino Lakes until December 31, 2017. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes approves the Legislation, hereby making it effective in compliance with the provisions of Minnesota Statute §645.021, Subdivisions 2 and 3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to submit the required Certificate of Approval of Special Law by Governing Body to the Minnesota Secretary of State. Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 23rd day of November 2015.
