RESOLUTION NO. 16-49
RESOLUTION APPROVING A SUMMARY OF
ORDINANCE NO. 03-16 FOR PUBLICATION
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the first and second reading of Ordinance No. 03-
16, amending City Code Title 600 relating to Business and Activity Licenses; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 03-16 is lengthy and MN Statute 412.191 provides for a city to
publish a summary of an ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines that the summary clearly informs the public of the
intent and effect of the ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the publication in the official newspaper will include a notice that a full printed
copy of the ordinance is available at City Hall.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes
approves the summary in Attachment A for publication according to state law and the City
Charter.
Adopted by the Council of the Lino Lakes this 13th day of June, 2016.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member
Maher and was duly seconded by Council Member Rafferty and upon vote
being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:

SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 03-16
AMENDING CITY CODE TITLE 600
RELATING TO BUSINESS AND ACTIVITY LICENSES
The City of Lino Lakes City Council does ordain:
Section 1. The Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances, Title 600 relating to Business and Activity
Licenses, is hereby amended as follows:
Chapter 611 (Lawful Gambling) and Chapter 615 (Special Events) are amended to
remove the word "permit" and replace it with "license" to meet the requirements of the
Minnesota Bureau of Crimination Apprehension (BCA) for background check purposes;
- Chapter 612 (Pawnbrokers; Precious Metal Dealers; Second Hand Goods Dealers) is
amended to require a license for precious metal dealer and second hand goods dealer;
Chapter 601 (Background Checks) is amended to delete obsolete language relating to
access to data and informed consent.
Section 2. Effective Date of Ordinance. This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after
its publication.
