RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING ANNUAL APPROPRIATION
FOR BEYOND THE YELLOW RIBBON NETWORK
WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network was officially proclaimed a
Yellow Ribbon community by the State of Minnesota Yellow Ribbon Action Plan Community;
and
WHEREAS, the Yellow Ribbon Network is a comprehensive community program that offers
support to military families in need; and
WHEREAS, the City Council fully supports the efforts of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon
community to build an enduring and sustainable network of support in the Lino Lakes
community; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to provide financial support to assist the organization in
achieving its mission of connecting military personnel or their families with the help they need;
and
WHEREAS, the Yellow Ribbon community remains an active program and reports its activities
to the City Council on an annual basis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes that
$500 is allocated to the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network in the 2017 budget and annually
thereafter until by Council action the funding is rescinded, raised, or reduced.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 13th day of February 2017.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member
Maher and was duly seconded by Council Member Rafferty and upon
vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Maher, Rafferty, Kusterman, Manthey, Reinert

INTRODUCTION
The City Council is being asked to consider a resolution that establishes an annual
appropriation of $500 for Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network.
BACKGROUND
Last October the City Council approved a $500 contribution for Lino Lakes Beyond the Yellow
Ribbon to obtain its 501(c)(3) designation.
The City Council has expressed interest in providing City funds on an annual basis to help the
organization with its mission of connecting military personnel and their families with the help
they need.
Resolution No. 17-14 would establish an annual appropriation of $500 each budget year until
by Council action the funding is rescinded, raised, or reduced.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve Resolution No. 17-14, establishing an annual appropriation of $500 for the Lino
Lakes Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network.
