The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota, does ordain: Section 1. That Section 1002.02, Subdivision 3, of the Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances be amended as follows: 1002.02 DEFINITIONS. (3) Whenever the term FIRE DEPARTMENT or FIRE DIVISION is used, it shall mean the Lino Lakes Public Safety Department — Fire Division. Section 2. That Section 1002.03 of the Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances be amended as follows: 1002.03 APPLICATION, ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT. The application, administration and enforcement of the code shall be in accordance with the Minnesota State Fire Code. (1) The - - - - - . . - - .- - Public Safety Director, or his/her designee, is authorized to enforce the provisions of the Minnesota State Fire Code and this subchapter. (2) The ••- . - •-• - . . - . - Public Safety Director, or his/her designee, may detail the members of the Fife Public Safety Department as may be necessary to administer and enforce the provisions of this subchapter. BACKGROUND This amendment states that the term "Fire Department" or "Fire Division" shall mean "Lino Lakes Public Safety Department — Fire Division." The amendment also authorizes the Public Safety Director or his/her designee to administer and enforce the provisions of the Minnesota State Fire Code. RECOMMENDATION Approve second reading of Ordinance No. 02-16, "Amending Title 1000, Chapter 1002 of the Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances Relating to Fire Code," with the following actions: (1) dispense with the full reading of the ordinance; and (2) a roll call vote for adoption of the ordinance.
