Of all the rights we have, one of the most precious is the right of each citizen to own, use or transfer real property as he or she sees fit, so long as the rights of others are not infringed upon. Above all, we must guard against taking for granted the rights that come with home ownership. Owning one's home and preserving these rights fosters democracy because it disperses individual decision-making that collectively affects the well-being of our community. This ownership requires that people save not only for their own homes; it encourages savings in other sectors of the economy, creating growth and contributing to a higher quality of life. REALTORS® in LINO LAKES, as members of the ANOKA COUNTY BOARD OF REALTORS® and the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® are setting aside a week to celebrate our constitutional freedom to own real property. Further, the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® asks all citizens in our community to join in reaffirm - in this basic freedom. Therefore, I, BENJAMIN BENSON, Mayor of LINO LAKES, do hereby proclaim April 8-14 to be Private Property Week. I ask all residents of LINO LAKES to join with the ANOKA COUNTY BOARD OF REALTORS® and its members in setting aside this period to remind ourselves that we are a free people endowed with the right to own real property, and given the responsibility to protect that right. Benjamin Benson Mayor, Lino Lakes, Minnesota March 5, 19 Honorable Mayor and Council Members: I would like to apply for the position now open on the Park of the City of Lino Lakes. / & P tio 1 RACE T24-, GT°0341 OW , . Board My name is William Nissen. I have resided at 6925 West Shadow Lake Drive since September of 1981. Prior to residing in Lino Lakes, I resided in the City of Circle Pines and served on the Park Board of that city until my moving to Lino Lakes forced me to resign that position. I am employed with Frank's Nursery and Crafts as store manager of the Roseville store. I have worked for Frank's Nursery for ten years, of which seven of them were in the position of store manager. I have a great deal of knowledge in the horticultural fields, and good business contacts in the nursery industry. I feel that my broad horticultural and nursery background and prior experience on the Circle Pines Park Board would be of great benefit to both the citizens and the Park Board of Lino Lakes. Should you desire further information or an interview, please contact me. Thank you for the opportunity to present this application. William Nissen
