MINUTES
CANVASSING BOARD
DATE : November 9, 2009

MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Members Reinert, Gallup,
O'Donnell and Mayor Bergeson
MEMBERS ABSENT : none
Staff members present: Deputy City Clerk Jean Viger; City Attorney Joseph Langel; and
City Clerk Julie Bartell
Deputy City Clerk Viger reviewed the results of the Lino Lakes election held on
November 3, 2009.
At the board's request, City Attorney Langel reported on the status of filling the vacant
city council seat. Under the provisions of the city charter the third highest vote getter
will fill the vacant seat, that person being Dave Roeser. Under state statute, Mr. Roeser
would be eligible to receive his election certificate and take the oath of office seven days
after canvassing is complete, or November 17, 2009 at the earliest. That is also
contingent upon Mr. Roeser filing his campaign fund disclosures.
Canvassing Board Member Gallup moved to accept the November 3, 2009 General
Election Results, as presented. Canvassing Board Member Reinert seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
Being no further business, Canvassing Board Member O'Donnell moved to adjourn at
6:25 p.m. Canvassing Board Member Gallup seconded the motion. Motion carried.
These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at the regular Council meeting held on
November 23, 2009.
