HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-136 Council ResolutionCITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 17-136 AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF REPORT ON IMPROVEMENTS (AMENDING MAY 8, 2017 FEASIBILITY REPORT) LAMOTTE AREA STREET AND UTILITY PROJECT WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 17-42 the City Council accepted the feasibility report for the West Shadow Lake and LaMotte Neighborhood Street Reconstruction Project prepared by WSB & Associates, dated May 8, 2017, and WHEREAS, The City is proposing to reconstruct LaMotte Drive and LaMotte Circle along with associated stormwater improvements in accordance with the 5 -year Street Reconstruction Plan adopted June 12, 2017, Resolution 17-54, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interest of the City to consider the extension of water utility along LaMotte Drive and LaMotte Circle in conjunction with said street improvements, and to assess the benefited property for all or a portion of the cost of the utility extension, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429 and the City Charter, and WHEREAS, the number of benefitted property owners is estimated at 43 and will be determined as part of the report. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes: City Council directs staff to amend the feasibility report dated May 8, 2017 to include the number of benefitted property owners and all necessary project costs in both unit price and in total for all components of the project including, but not limited to, the extension of sanitary sewer and water utilities. That the proposed improvement be referred to WSB and Associates, Inc., for study and that they are instructed to report to the council with all convenient speed advising the council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost-effective, and feasible; whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement; the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended; and a description of the methodology used to calculate individual assessments for affected parcels. Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 27th day of November, 2017.
