RESOLUTION NO. 18-09
APPROVING ISSUANCE OF NEW ON -SALE LIQUOR AND SUNDAY
LICENSE FOR KATANA SUSHI, 730 APOLLO DRIVE, SUITE 110
WHEREAS, the city has received an application for an On -Sale Liquor and Sunday
License from Guang Ye, Hai Shen Li and Yan Guang Chen for a Sushi resteraunt located
at 730 Apollo Drive, Suite 110; and
WHEREAS, city staff has reviewed said application and determined that the request
meets the requirements of the City Code and Minnesota State Statutes for the type of
licenses requested; and
WHEREAS, the Public Safety Department of the City of Lino Lakes has conducted an
investigation of the applicants, and;
WHEREAS, the applicant has provided proof of insurance as required and paid the
necessary fees;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lino
Lakes hereby approves a new on -sale liquor and Sunday license for Katana Sushi subject
to all the fees, provisions and conditions of the laws of the city, state and federal
government and the applicant will comply with all said laws.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 22nd day of January, 2018.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council
Member
Manthey and was duly seconded by Council Member Maher and upon vote
being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:

Consider Resolution 18-09, Approving New
On -Sale Liquor and Sunday Sales License for Katana Sushi
VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5
INTRODUCTION
Katana Sushi has applied for an On -Sale and Sunday Sales Liquor License. Katana is located at
730 Apollo Drive, Suite 110.
BACKGROUND
The application submitted to the City is complete, the related fees have been paid and insurance
information has been provided to the City as required. In addition, the Lino Lakes Public Safety
Department has conducted the required background investigations on the new applicants.
In accordance with the Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances, Section 701 relating to Liquor
Licensing, this application requires approval by the City Council. The code also requires that
opportunity shall be given to any person to be heard for or against the granting of the license.
The council may then, in its discretion, grant or refuse the application.
If local approval is granted, Guang Ye, Yan Guang Chen and Hai Shen Li's application for a
liquor license will be forwarded to the Minnesota Alcohol & Gambling Enforcement Division
for review.
The applicant is aware that approval is subject to all the provisions and conditions of the laws of
the city, state and federal government.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the approval of the On -Sale Liquor and Sunday Sales License for Katana
Sushi.
