CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 18-42 APPROVING CONTRACT WITH NORTHLAND RECREATION INC. FOR BIRCH PARK PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, The playground equipment at Birch Park was installed in 1998 and is need of replacement; and WHEREAS, The Park Board and staff are recommending the Birch Park playground equipment be replaced; and WHEREAS, The National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) is a public corporation serving as a municipal contracting agency for government and education agencies. The NJPA serves member agencies under the legislative authority established and granted by Minnesota Statute 123A.21. This fulfills the competitive solicitation and contract process required of governmental agencies; and WHEREAS, Staff is recommending entering into a contract with Northland Recreation, Inc. in the amount of $60,000 to provide the design and equipment for the Birch Park Playground Project via the NJPA. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: 1. That staff is authorized to enter into a contract with Northland Recreation, Inc. in the amount of $60,000 to provide the design and equipment for the Birch Park Playground Project via the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA). 2. Funding is from the Dedicated Parks Fund. The City collected $62,064 from the Saddle Club development that was designated for improvements at Birch Park. Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 9th day of April, 2018. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member Rafferty and was duly seconded by Council Member Stoesz and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Rafferty, Stoesz, Maher, Reinert The following voted against same None (absent - Manthey)
