HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-043 Council ResolutionCITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 18-43 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BASE BID, AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, AND APPROVING THE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES CONTRACT, 2018 MILL AND OVERLAY PROJECT WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of the 2018 Mill and Overlay Project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID TA Schifsky & Sons, Inc. $412,950.83 Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $425,332.76 Park Construction Co. $425,420.73 North Valley, Inc. $436,622.39 GMH Asphalt Corporation $455,555.55 Northwest Asphalt, Inc. $461,931.12 Knife River $486,380.54 Hardrives, Inc. (Rogers) $492,408.32 Midwest Asphalt Services, LLC $511,852.90 WHEREAS, it appears that TA Schifsky & Sons, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder; WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interests of the city to proceed with the construction oversight and administration, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes: 1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with TA Schifsky & Sons, Inc. in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction of the 2018 Mill and Overlay Project according to the plans and specifications approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with WSB and Associates, Inc., in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction services of the 2018 Mill and Overlay Project in the amount of $31,343.00. 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidder the Bid Bonds made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been signed. Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 23rd day of April, 2018.
